Deep Mapping

The metaphor of displacement is delineated through the prevalent adversities the town of Moab faces daily. The cartographic and conceptual process of deep mapping was utilized to explore Moab on a larger scale and articulate the theme of displacement in several contexts. Studying this theme of displacement helped inform the direction of the Axis Eco-Lodge project completed consequently. The overt manifestations of displacement in Moab confirmed the necessity of an architecture driven by the concept of convergence.
