The Indigenous Gallery located in Salt Lake City, Utah juxtaposes fragmented elements of Native American culture and religion through the design of interstitial spaces. The architecture utilizes deconstructive strategies to highlight the meaning of their culture through storytelling. The element of ceremony augments spatial quality and serves as a connective tissue in the architecture. The layering of earthen and modern materials and tectonics delineates the layering of Indigenous knowledge. The Indigenous Gallery empowers Native American heritage and invests the local community through events and shared experiences.
